Caltrain is a regional railway connecting San Francisco to San José, operating six different service patterns on their singular line. Making sense of these — three of which are branded "Limited", one of which operates on weekends, and most of which include slight internal variations — requires sifting through timetables to find a train that stops at both of your endpoint stations. Their official map makes no effort to communicate these stopping patterns despite the simplicity of their system, instead expending information space on surrounding geography and odd depictions of onward connections. I saw an opportunity to fill in for Caltrain's lacking rider communications, and it wouldn't be my last time doing so.
